The winners for the ESPY Awards 2009 sports awards have been announced in a grand ceremony, Nokia Theater, Los Angeles on July 15. The awards event created By ESPN American channel. The Show aired on July 19 through ESPN channel.

The ESPY Awards 2009 Big winner is Michael Phelps, He was taking five ESPY Awards and beating Tiger Woods for Male Athlete of the Year, for which Woods has won the title the last five years in a row.


Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps taking how five awards: Best Male Athlete, Best Championship Performance, Best Record Breaking Performance, and while sharing the best moment award as part of the victorious 400-meter freestyle swimming relay at the Beijing Games.
