Former CBS TV Anchor Walter Cronkite, 92 years old was died at his home in New York city, New York on Friday July 17, 2009. Cronkite's chief staff, Marlene Adler, said Cronkite died at 7.42 P.M. at his Manhattan home surrounded by family. She said the cause of death was cerebral vascular disease.
Walter Cronkite is well known show is CBS Evening News for 1962 to 81. He was an Television broadcast journalist. In 1970s and 1980s CBS news, he was often cited in viewer opinion polls as "the most trusted man in America" because of his professional experience and kindly demeanor.
"For decades, Walter Cronkite was the most trusted voice in America," said President Barack Obama in a statement. "His rich baritone reached millions of living rooms every night, and in an industry of icons, Walter set the standard by which all others have been judged." According to CBS News.
