Twenty four hours after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his Special Secretary P Subramanyam, chief security officer A S C Wesley, pilot Group Captain S K Bhatia and co-pilot M S Reddy were found ontop of Rudrakonda Hill, 40 nautical miles from Kurnool.
Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy, 60-year-old, Bell 430 Chopper went missing on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 9:35 am in Nallamala forest area. Today morning of 3rd September, 2009, Indian Prime Minister delhi office reported that the helicopter had been found on top of Rudrakonda Hill, 40 nautical miles from Kurnool at 9.50 AM. The helicopter had crashed, however no reason for the crash has yet been found. All 5 persons aboard were pronounced dead at the scene.
The 11-year-old Bell 430 helicopter with five on board had lost radio contact one hour after it took off from the old Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
