ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on September 11, 2009 in what Andrews called her "first and last interview" about the situation. Andrews described the situation as a "nightmare", and stated that at the time she discovered the video, she believed that her career would end. She was told by law enforcement officers that her peeping hole interview may never come of the Internet.
In an interview of The Oprah Winfrey, that it was very difficult to bear the ignominy of being filmed nude and people seeing her in such condition. The video of a naked Andrews shot through what appeared to be a peep hole surfaced several weeks ago. Its release prompted swift action by her attorneys and ESPN to suppress the video and seek action against whoever perpetrated the invasion of privacy crime against her.
Internet security expert Graham Cluley said, "Hackers have created webpages claiming to contain the controversial footage that Erin Andrews legal team are trying to have wiped off the net".
